The ing suffix is added to the end of verbs indicating an ongoing action,
Present Participle: Used to form continuous tenses, showing an action happening now.
Example: "I am singing".
Common spelling rules include simply adding -ing
to most verbs
for example, walk becomes walking, removing a final e
for example dance becomes dancing, changing ie to y
for example tie becomes tying, doubling the final consonant
before adding -ing for short vowel sounds

Sentence structure.
Simple sentences:
A simple sentence has only one clause.
The children were laughing.
John wanted a new bicycle.
Compound sentence:
A compound sentence joins two or more independent clauses with a coordinating conjunction.
Simple sentences: My name is Scott. I'm here for the learning.
Compound sentence: My name is Scott, and I'm here for the learning.
